Get your compost made from residual household waste quality-labelled!
On 24 February 2017, the Terrom association appointed Apave Certification to carry out audits for their eponymous label.
This label is supported by Ademe and aims to improve the quality of compost made from household waste, in order to:
- To improve the composting and methanisation facilities in terms of the quality of the compost and the procedures for monitoring quality;
- To anticipate the possible removal of compost from waste status by creating a quality assurance system necessary for this process;
- Strengthen the confidence of users of compost made from residual household waste and increase the use of these fertilisers.
It is aimed at waste sorting-composting and sorting-methanisation facilities.
The Terrom association is a grouping of the National Federation of Decontamination and Environmental Activities (FNADE), the Association of Local Authorities for Waste Management (AMORCE), the National Federation of Composting Authorities (FNCC) and the Association for Waste Methanisation (METHEOR).

Periodicity
The label is issued for 3 years, following an initial audit and with the condition of conducting annual audits. Laboratory tests are also planned, according to the standard NF U 44-051.
