Description
ISO 19443 is a sector-specific international standard aimed at strengthening safety and controlling quality throughout the nuclear supply chain. It is specifically aimed at suppliers and/or subcontractors of products and/or services important to nuclear safety (IPNS).
ISO 19443 is nothing more than a variation of the ISO 9001:2015 international standard Quality Management System (QMS), adapted to the specificities of the nuclear sector.
ISO 19443 defines precise requirements for a quality management system (QMS) allowing an organisation to rely on the following principles:
- Management involvement
- Customer orientation,
- Staff involvement
- Process approach
- System approach
- Continuous improvement
- Fact-based decision making
- Mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
Why get ISO 19443 certified?
The nuclear energy sector is heavily regulated (various national, international directives, and general quality assurance specifications) which have repercussions for suppliers and subcontractors involved in the nuclear supply chain.
Certification of your quality management system according to ISO 19443 contributes to the success of your organisation by strengthening the satisfaction of interested parties (customer satisfaction, ability to contribute sustainably to the activities of principals) and staff motivation.
Certification of your quality management system (QMS) in the nuclear sector according to ISO 19443 allows you to provide proof and recognition of the quality of your services (reliability, traceability, skills, safety awareness). Among other things, it will be an undeniable competitive advantage in the competition for calls for tenders.
