ISO 9001 certification can indeed be combined with other certifications: ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and coordinated audits. This combined audit allows you to save time and money, estimated at around 20%.

It thus provides proof of your organization's performance in terms of quality (ISO 9001), Occupational Health and Safety, and environmental management.

How to obtain ISO 9001 certification

ISO 9001 certification is a voluntary process. Nevertheless, to present yourself for certification in the best conditions, facilitate its obtainment, and better meet the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard, it is recommended that your quality management system has been in place for 6 months, has been audited internally at least once, and that a management review has been carried out.

  • Description
    The ISO 9001 standard is an international standard that aims to implement a quality management system within companies and organizations of all sizes, and in all sectors of activity.

    It is part of the ISO 9000 series of standards (ISO 9000, ISO 9001, and ISO 9004), whose objective is to improve customer satisfaction.

    The ISO 9001 standard defines precise requirements for a quality management system (QMS) allowing an organization to rely on the following principles:

  • Involvement of leadership;
  • Customer focus;
  • Engagement of people;
  • Process approach;
  • System approach;
  • Continuous improvement;
  • Evidence-based decision making;
  • Mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

    It is, by far, the most sought-after and recognized certification in France and worldwide (with over a million certified organizations) concerning management standards.

    The ISO 9001:2015 Standard

    The current version of ISO 9001:2015 dates from September 2015 and replaced version 9001:2008, by adding profound modifications, more in line with the current economic situation and context. It has been amended with ISO 9001:2015/AMD 1:2024 concerning actions related to climate change.

    This version therefore better integrates an organization's internal and external issues and associated risks.

    Characteristics of the ISO 9001 Standard

    If we were to group the main characteristics of this quality standard, here is the triptych that emerges:

    1. Conducting internal audits: the requirements of the standard demand that the organization itself audits its quality system. This work allows for verifying the relevance and, above all, the effectiveness of processes.

    2. Customer involvement in quality management: direct integration of customers into the improvement of the quality policy is a strong argument for enhancing customer satisfaction.

    3. Benefiting from an independent assessment: certification by an independent body like Apave Certification provides a real guarantee of quality and credibility.
