Who is VCA Certification for?
VCA certification is intended for contracting companies that carry out activities with an increased risk in a hazardous environment (work in factories, installations, workshops, and project sites), such as:

Accreditation
This service is carried out under BELAC accreditation for the certification of management systems.
Accreditation no. 651-QMS - scope available on the website www.belac.fgov.be.
Certification levels
- VCA*: focuses on the direct management of HSE (Safety, Health, and Environment) aspects in the workplace, without the use of subcontractors.
- VCA**: focuses on the direct management of HSE aspects in the workplace, as well as on the HSE structure (e.g., HSE policy, HSE organisation, and improvement policy).
- VCA Petrochemistry: focuses on the direct management of HSE aspects in the workplace, as well as on the HSE structure (e.g., HSE policy, HSE organisation, and improvement policy) and on additional requirements specific to the Petrochemical sector.

The VCA certification is the Certification of the Safety, Health and Environment management system of Contracting companies.
The Safety, Health and Environment Checklist for Contracting companies is aimed at any company whose workers provide services in another company (principal) and whose activities have a significant impact on the safety of the principal's site.
The VCA certification provides assurance that the company complies with the requirements imposed by the principal, the nature of the risks induced by its activities, the activities of the principal and other companies on the site.
Steps and process
- Preparation and implementation of the checklist (at least 3 months)
- Application for certification to an accredited Certification Body (APAVE Belgium sa)
- Technical and financial proposal
- Audit program proposal
- Document evaluation (phase 1)
- Implementation control (phase 2)
- Audit report
- Report approval by the coordinator
- Certification decision by the competent person of the certification body and issuance of the certificate
- Appeal procedure, in case of dispute
