ISO 9001 is an international standard aimed at implementing a quality management system within companies and organisations of all sizes, and in all business sectors. It is part of the ISO 9000 standards framework (ISO 9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 9004), whose purpose is to improve customer satisfaction.
Increasing your performance and competitiveness, satisfying your customers, involving your employees and adopting a long-term quality approach are the main benefits of the ISO 9001 standard for which Apave Certification certifies you.
The ISO 9001 standard defines specific requirements regarding a quality management system (QMS) enabling an organisation to rely on the following principles:
- management involvement;
- customer focus;
- staff involvement;
- the process approach;
- the system approach;
- a continuous improvement approach;
- fact-based decision-making;

The ISO 9001 standard 2015 version
The current version of ISO 9001 dates from September 2015 and replaced the 2008 version, making in-depth changes which are more in line with the current situation and economic context.
The 2015 version of the ISO 9001 standard, proposed by Apave Certification, therefore better incorporates the internal and external challenges facing an organisation and the associated risks.
Who should attend ISO 9001: Quality management
ISO 9001 certification is for any public or private organisation, regardless of its size or business sector, wishing to establish a quality management system.
The characteristics
If we were to group together the main characteristics of this quality standard, this is what the triptych that emerges would look like:
- Performance of internal audits: the requirements relating to the standard require the organisation to audit its quality system itself. This work makes it possible to check the relevance and above all the effectiveness of the processes.
- Customer involvement in quality management: direct inclusion of customers in improving the quality policy is a strong argument in favour of improving customer satisfaction.
- Benefiting from an independent assessment: the certification of an independent body such as Apave Certification provides a real guarantee of quality and credibility.
Periodicity
The ISO 9001 certificate is valid for 3 years. Certification renewal involves a renewal audit, which is performed by a different auditor.
