Goals
The objectives of the prestation Certification of electrical products for Australia and New Zealand :
SAA Approvals (Standards Australia Approval) is accredited by JAS-ANZ as a third-party certification body responsible for issuing certificates of approval/conformity for declared Level 3 products and certificates of suitability for all undeclared or Level 1 and 2 electrical equipment.
Apave Certification is recognized by SAA to cover electrical safety standards for products and equipment.
Terms of obtaining
To request a certificate, you will need the following:
- Completed application form/form from Apave Certification.
- Test report (the report must be approved by a laboratory that is recognized by the ILAC/MRA (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) agreement), all ILAC signatories are accepted. Alternatively, a CB report with CB Certificate is also accepted. For more information on test reports, please contact us.
- Instruction manual if required by the product standard.
- Labels to be used for the Australian/New Zealand product.
Benefits
Benefit from a competent certification body for all your certifications worldwide.
Comply with Australian standards, which play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of electrical appliances.
SAA approval means that your products have undergone rigorous electrical safety and performance tests.

Description
The Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) is a symbol used to certify that electrical and electronic products meet mandatory requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
In particular, the RCM mark encompasses the following regulatory areas:
- Electrical safety
- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
- Radio by the ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority)
- Human exposure to electromagnetic radiation (Australia only)
- Telecom (Australia only)
Regarding electrical safety, the use of the RCM mark is determined by the AS/NZS 4417 standard, which also defines the 3 risk levels applicable to electrical products:
Level 1: low risk,
Level 2: medium risk,
Level 3: high risk
Steps and processes
Depending on the risk level of your equipment, the certification process differs:
Level 1 – Proof of conformity to the relevant standard + (Certificate of Suitability – Optional)
Level 2 – Proof of conformity to the relevant standard + Compliance file + (Certificate of Suitability – Optional)
Level 3 – Proof of conformity to the relevant standard + Certificate of Conformity – Mandatory
