AFNOR and Apave Certification join forces to launch the "Acteur BTP engagé" Label

AFNOR CERTIFICATION AND APAVE JOIN FORCES FOR A SAFE RETURN TO WORK IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A SPECIFIC LABEL

As the economy gradually gets back on track, AFNOR Certification and Apave Certification, two major players in construction sector certification, have developed a specific label, "Acteur BTP engagé".

The aim is to inspire confidence by issuing a certificate and a visible badge attesting that a construction company is complying with the health rules specific to Covid-19.

Like many other sectors of the French economy, the construction industry is gradually resuming its activities after nearly two months of health crisis, but must do so by applying the protective measures against Covid-19 in the workplace and on the construction sites. For all those who wish to show that they apply them scrupulously, and thus reassure their interlocutors and their customers, the on-site verification by a recognized third party organization is an excellent solution. If the exercise is conclusive, a label can be awarded to recognize these good practices. The company thus benefits from the sharp eye of an impartial evaluator.

To develop this label, AFNOR Certification and Apave Certification, two major players in construction sector certification, have drawn up specifications adapted to the verification of measures taken at company level (offices, company warehouses and workshops, material supply logistics chains) and at the worksite level (living quarters, worksite bungalows, etc.), capitalizing on sector-specific documents such as the OPPBTP guide and the job descriptions issued by the French General Directorate of Labour (DGT). The assessors assigned to companies that request it are trained in it.

"I am delighted with this partnership between two leading players, both of whom are trusted by economic players in the construction sector and who are keen to initiate a healthy, ambitious and resilient recovery that will reassure employees, clients and partners who need to resume their work under the best possible conditions," comments Franck Lebeugle, CEO of AFNOR Certification.

"In the context of post-crisis recovery, this partnership between Apave and Afnor is excellent news. Our teams are committed to supporting the construction sector in this very special period. The availability of our joint and complementary skills in Certification, Building and Civil Engineering and QHSE is part of our shared desire to support the resumption of activities in complete safety and to support the associated economic recovery. "says Philippe Maillard, CEO of Apave.
